On January 21 at 09:43, a report was received on the emergency line “101” about a fire in a cargo truck on the M-06 highway “Kyiv-Chop” near the village of Zelenyi Hai in the Dubno district.

Rescuers from the 5th and 2nd state fire and rescue units, as well as the local fire brigade from the village of Pryvilne, promptly headed to the scene. They were joined by specialists from the radiation, chemical, and biological protection department of the State Emergency Service and the operational coordination center of the regional department of the State Emergency Service.
Upon arrival, rescuers found that the fire had completely engulfed the cabin of a MAN truck carrying 24 tons of ammonium nitrate, a mineral fertilizer.
Thanks to the swift actions of the firefighters, they were able to localize the fire in a timely manner and prevent the flames from spreading to the trailer with the cargo. The fire was localized at 10:19 and fully extinguished by 10:33.
Specialists from the radiation, chemical, and biological protection department conducted measurements of environmental contamination. Monitoring results showed no hazardous substances in the air, thus posing no threat to the population.
As a result of the incident, there were no casualties or injuries. A total of 5 units of special equipment from the State Emergency Service and 20 rescuers were involved in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damages are currently being determined.
