From January 16 to 17, eight fires occurred in residential buildings and outbuildings in the Rivne region.

The first fire happened on January 16 at 10:00 in the village of Krychylsk, on Shevchenko Street, in the Sarny district. The fire damaged a wall covering an area of 3 m² of a residential building. The causes and damages are currently being determined.
On the same day at 12:17 in the village of Yapalot, on Polova Street, in the Kostopil district, the fire destroyed a roof covering an area of 30 m², as well as 2 tons of hay, damaging the ceiling over an area of 10 m² of an outbuilding. The causes and damages are under investigation.
At 13:59 in the village of Krupove, on Tsentralna Street, in the Dubrovytsia district, the fire destroyed a roof and ceiling covering an area of 20 m², and also caused damage to household appliances, furniture, and personal belongings over an area of 60 m² of a residential building. The causes and damages are currently being clarified.
At 14:01 in the Borkivskyi massif, on Kalynova Street, in the Oleksandriia district, the fire destroyed furniture, household appliances, and personal items, as well as the roof and ceiling of a residential building. The causes and damages are being determined.
At 16:38 in the village of Rozvazh, on Naberezhna Street, in the Ostroh district, the fire destroyed household items and damaged the garage door located in the basement of a residential building. The causes and damages are being investigated.
At 17:09 in the village of Stara Rafalivka, on Druzhby Street, in the Varash district, the fire destroyed 10 m³ of firewood, as well as the roof and ceiling covering an area of 30 m² of an outbuilding. The causes and damages are being determined.
At 20:20 in the village of Borove, on Ivan Klyapka Street, in the Rokytne district, the fire destroyed the roof and ceiling of a residential building. The causes and damages are being investigated.
The next day, January 17, at 01:33 in the city of Berezne, on Berehova Street, in the Rivne district, the fire destroyed 40 m² of roofing and also damaged the ceiling over an area of 30 m² of an outbuilding. The causes and damages are currently being clarified.
Rescuers in Rivne emphasize that a significant portion of such fires occurs during power outages when people actively use alternative sources of light and heat, heating appliances, and generators, as well as overloading the electrical network after power restoration.
