Yesterday, February 24, around 8 PM on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Kvasyliv, a fatal car accident occurred.

According to preliminary data from the investigative department, a 67-year-old driver of a DAF truck with a semi-trailer, a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, failed to maintain a safe distance, which led to a collision with a Volkswagen pickup truck driven by a 45-year-old resident of Kyiv. After this, the DAF truck collided with another truck of the same brand, driven by a 63-year-old resident of the Varash district.
As a result of the impact, the DAF was pushed into the oncoming lane, where it collided again with a truck, the driver of which was a 31-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region.
Unfortunately, the 67-year-old driver died at the scene from his injuries. The 31-year-old driver was also injured and hospitalized with fractures. Other participants in the accident were not injured.
The investigator has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of traffic rules that led to death, in accordance with part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
