Timely “tire change” is one of the key aspects of road safety, and therefore the demand for quality winter tires is increasing every day.
However, scammers are also taking advantage of this seasonal opportunity for their schemes. They create phishing websites and post false advertisements on social media to deceive trusting consumers.
Since the beginning of the month, four residents of the Rivne region have fallen victim to such criminals. The fraudsters sold non-existent tires at attractive prices, asking customers to send a deposit or pay for the purchase in full. After receiving the money, the “sellers” stopped responding, leaving the victims without the promised goods.
As a result of these fraudulent actions, the victims lost nearly 45,000 hryvnias.
