The tragic incident occurred on April 1 at around 5:30 PM in Zdolbuniv.

According to the conductor of the passenger train, a 44-year-old local resident attempted to cross the railway tracks in an unauthorized area while talking on his mobile phone.
Despite emergency braking, the collision could not be avoided.
The man sustained injuries from which he died at the scene.
Investigators have initiated a pre-trial investigation regarding the violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of railway transport under part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
