Tomorrow, at 8:50 AM, a memorial plaque honoring the fallen hero Denys Hrytsiuk will be unveiled on the facade of Rivne Lyceum No. 13.

Denys Vasylovych Hrytsiuk, born on May 15, 1992, in Rivne, studied at School No. 13 and later pursued his education at a transport college. After that, he enrolled in the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use, where he studied part-time.
In 2013, Denys was conscripted for mandatory military service, which lasted for two years. After returning from the army, he completed his studies and began working at the Private Enterprise “Confectionery Decorations Factory.”
Football was his great passion. He dedicated himself to coaching at the “Standard” academy, nurturing young athletes and passing on his knowledge and love for the game. He also actively played in adult matches.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion on February 25, 2022, Denys was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he served in Rivne region, and in May 2023, he was deployed to Donetsk region. In November-December 2024, he underwent training in Spain, fulfilling the duties of a combat medic.
Denys’s dedication and courage were recognized with numerous awards, including the honorary badge “Golden Cross,” the medal “For Saved Life,” and the President of Ukraine’s award “For the Defense of Ukraine.”
Denys died while honorably fulfilling his military duty, defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in February 2025 in Donetsk region.
