Today, a memorial plaque honoring the fallen hero Valeriy Komar was unveiled on the facade of Rivne Gymnasium No. 10.

Valeriy Komar was born on December 18, 1977, in the village of Novoselivske, Luhansk region. In the early months of his life, his family moved to Rivne, where Valeriy attended schools No. 8 and No. 10. After graduating from school, he trained as a lathe operator at Vocational Technical School No. 9.
Valeriy was a hardworking individual known for his responsibility, diligence, and reliability. He worked at various enterprises, earning the respect of his colleagues. His last place of employment before mobilization was the company “Vilіs.” He was known as a kind, calm, and sincere person who never refused to help and approached all tasks with responsibility.
In May 2023, Valeriy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, understanding that the country needed protection.
Unfortunately, medic Valeriy Komar was killed while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction on September 2, 2024.
