Lives and Deeds of the Fallen

Vasyl Oniščuk, born on December 26, 1972, in the village of Stovpin in the Rivne region, received his education as a tractor driver at the Korets vocational school. After his mandatory military service, he worked in the police, and with the onset of the full-scale invasion, he became a volunteer to defend Ukraine.

According to the Defender’s wife, Vasyl quickly adapted to military realities. Even after being wounded, he returned to service, remaining devoted to his comrades. His family was his greatest treasure. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time in nature.

Unfortunately, 53-year-old soldier Vasyl Oniščuk passed away on February 10, 2026, while undergoing treatment in Rivne. He is survived by his wife, two children, two grandchildren, his mother, sister, and brother.

Tetiana Lukashuk, born on October 19, 1979, in Rivne, received her education at an agricultural college and the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. After her studies, she worked as an investigator and police major, actively joining the defense of Ukraine at the start of the war.

Relatives recall that Tetiana handled documentation in her unit and was friendly and sociable. “Mom hardly ever talked about her service. Even when it was hard for her – she didn’t want to worry us,” said the daughter of the serviceman.

Tetiana Lukashuk passed away on February 8, 2026, in the Kharkiv region. She is survived by her daughter, a sister, and two nephews.

Oleg Piven, born on April 15, 1983, in the village of Milostiv in the Rivne region, trained as a carpenter. After his education, he worked as a car maintenance technician and also voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“It was his conscious decision – to protect his family and country,” said the Defender’s wife. Oleg Piven was killed on August 5, 2024, while performing a combat mission. Only recently was his body identified and returned to his family for burial.

Oleg is survived by his wife, two children, and parents.
