The pre-trial investigation has been completed in the Rivne region, and an indictment has been sent to court against a staff sergeant of a training center of one of the military units. He was detained while receiving an unlawful benefit from a “client” in February 2026.
This is reported by Rivne24
The individual involved in the case, abusing his official position, acted as an intermediary, seeking out “clients” and promising to influence members of the military medical commission through his “connections”.
According to his scheme, military personnel were issued fictitious medical diagnoses, based on which the military medical commission recognized them as “limited fit for service”. This allowed them to be transferred to units that were not carrying out missions on the front line.
The cost of the complete set of documents was from 5 thousand US dollars per person.
Under the procedural guidance of the Rivne Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region, an indictment has been sent to court regarding this military serviceman for a crime provided for in part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This involves accepting an offer, promise, or receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with extortion of such benefit.
If found guilty, he faces up to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
