The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has appealed to the Rivne Regional Military Administration and the Tarakaniv Village Council with a request to conduct a monitoring of the condition of Tarakaniv Fort. If necessary, the ministry asks to take appropriate response measures.

This request was a result of public resonance that arose around this cultural heritage site. The ministry emphasized the importance of checking compliance with the legislation on the protection of cultural heritage, as well as the necessity of monitoring the condition of the monument.
Furthermore, in April, the Rivne Regional State Administration expressed its intention to include Tarakaniv Fort in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine. However, unfortunately, the necessary package of documents was not submitted, which makes it impossible for the ministry to issue an order to include the monument in the Register.
“The Ministry of Culture provided clarifications and conducted additional consultations to ensure the prompt preparation of the necessary documents, which are the basis for making the appropriate decision,” the agency noted.
As of today, the fort is registered as a historical monument and is protected under the monument protection legislation of Ukraine.
