Investigators have launched a pre-trial investigation into the traffic accident involving a motorcyclist in Rovno. The incident occurred on April 15, around 8 PM on Soborna Street.

At the scene, police determined that a 38-year-old driver of a “Toyota,” while making a turn at the uncontrolled intersection of Soborna and Knyaz Ostrozhsky Streets, failed to yield to the “Yamaha” motorcycle operated by a 41-year-old resident of the Rovno region.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, including polytrauma, a closed traumatic brain injury, an open leg fracture, and a femur fracture, as well as numerous abrasions. The victim was urgently transported to the hospital.
Investigators have initiated a pre-trial investigation for violating traffic safety rules under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Results from sobriety tests indicated that the driver of the car was sober. As part of the investigation, law enforcement is determining all circumstances of the accident and has collected biological samples from both drivers.
