In Rivne, police have detained a man for the intentional murder of his acquaintance. The perpetrator had previously come to the attention of law enforcement multiple times for committing property crimes, for which he served time in prison.

The investigation revealed that on December 23, around 8:00 PM, on Vyacheslav Chornovil Street, in a social institution, a 32-year-old resident of Rivne stabbed his 52-year-old acquaintance in the neck.
Witnesses of the incident alerted a staff member of the institution, who, in turn, called the police and emergency medical services. The doctors who arrived at the scene confirmed the victim’s death.
Law enforcement officials detained the 32-year-old man in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention facility.
The investigator, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, informed the detainee of the charges against him.
Today, December 26, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the possibility of bail.
