Oleg Shandruk did not manage Veres during the friendly match

Oleg Gerasymyuk, assistant coach of Rivne’s Veres, commented on the friendly match against Czech Bohemians, in which Rivne lost 3:4.

“In fact, it’s unpleasant to lose such matches even during training camps. Because we played well, had a good first half, and a solid thirty minutes in the second. However, we completely failed the end of the game. Hence the unpleasant aftertaste and valuable material for analysis. There is a reason to gather and discuss with the team why we performed so poorly at the end of the match,” Gerasymyuk noted.

He added that the team was managed today by head coach Oleg Shandruk. “This is important experience. When you assist the coach as an assistant, that’s one thing, but it’s different when you manage the entire process. Therefore, it was interesting for me. I am confident that this will only benefit our work in the future,” emphasized the assistant.

Regarding the team’s newcomer, Guilherme, Gerasymyuk noted that he needs time to adapt. “He has not been with the team for long. It’s clear that this player possesses good qualities, but he needs to understand our requirements to showcase his best skills. I believe that with his understanding and attitude towards work, we will soon see a good player in our squad,” he added.

Gerasymyuk also reported that the team continues training: “Tomorrow there will be two training sessions, and the day after tomorrow – another two before the new friendly match. We are working in a regular mode, according to schedule.”
