In the Rivne region, law enforcement officials arrested a 46-year-old entrepreneur who received a bribe of 2,500 US dollars for influencing local council deputies.

In July of this year, the man promised a representative of a farming enterprise that he would secure a favorable decision from the Dubno local council deputies regarding the purchase of a land plot she was renting, in exchange for a monetary reward.
Three months later, the local council granted permission for the sale of this land plot.
Recently, the woman fulfilled the terms of the agreement and handed the entrepreneur the agreed amount of the bribe, which was 2,500 US dollars.
Law enforcement officials conducted a search at the suspect’s residence, where they discovered and seized 5,150 euros, 5,000 US dollars, and 112,000 hryvnias.
The investigator notified the suspect of charges for committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to receiving unlawful benefits for a third party in exchange for a promise to influence the decision-making of individuals authorized to perform local government functions, committed by a group of individuals in collusion.
The court has placed the suspect under house arrest during the night as a preventive measure.
