Possible Closure of a School in Rivne Region Due to Lack of Funding

Primary School No. 9 in Kostopol continues to operate as usual, as approved by the city council deputies.

This is reported by Rivne24

The proposal to potentially suspend the educational process arose due to issues with the premises: students are learning in an old building that is slated for demolition, while the newly constructed facility cannot be put into operation without the installation of a shelter. The revised project includes the construction of a separate underground structure, as well as the establishment of a gymnasium. More than 20 million UAH is needed to complete this facility.

Previously, the construction of the new building was funded by the regional budget, but after the onset of the full-scale war, funding for such projects was halted. The project documentation for the shelter has already been prepared with funds from the city council, but the community lacks the capacity to complete the construction on its own.

Therefore, this academic year, the school continues to operate as usual, and the city authorities, together with parents, will seek opportunities to attract additional financial resources.

Currently, 35 children are studying at the school, and they will continue their education according to the usual schedule.

In the future, the issue of a possible suspension of classes will only be considered in the absence of funding to complete the school’s construction.
