The presentation of the Ukrainian fantasy film ‘Dzhura Korolevych’ took place at Dubno Castle, partially filmed at the Tarakaniv Fort in Rivne region, where the location was transformed into a medieval city.

According to the plot, the main character Dzhura-Ivanko discovers on his sixteenth birthday that he is the son of King Yuriy Khorobryi. He must lead the battle against evil, and his only chance of victory lies in his ability to listen to his heart and act bravely.

The film presentation was conducted by one of the shooting organizers, head of the Ternopil Film Commission Volodymyr Khanas, and the actor playing the role of the voivode Oleksa – Volodymyr Rashchuk. The actor, who fights against evil in the film, became a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia.

‘Cinema for tourism, tourism for cinema – this is the principle that works for Rivne region as well. Tarakaniv Fort is one of our most unique landmarks, and thanks to the film’s shooting, thousands of people will be able to discover it for themselves. Such projects promote the region and make it recognizable in Ukraine and the world,’ noted the Deputy Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration Ihor Pavlenko.

The filming of the movie began in 2019 and took place not only at Tarakaniv Fort but also in Zhytomyr region and Kyiv. The screening of the film occurred as part of the 5th International Film Forum ‘Kinokhvylia 2025’, which brings together the best Ukrainian film projects.
