The tragic incident occurred on March 10 at around 10:30 near Zdolbunivska Street.

Investigators have preliminarily determined that the driver of a freight train, a 52-year-old resident of Kostopil, was unable to avoid hitting the man, who, according to the driver, lay down on the tracks despite emergency braking.
The 78-year-old resident of Rivne died at the scene from his injuries.
Currently, authorities are considering the opening of a criminal case for violations of traffic safety rules or railway transport operations that led to the death of a person.
