Rivnans Dispose of Hazardous Waste in Sewage: What Should Not Be Disposed

The Rivne Oblvodokanal demonstrated the operation of a mechanical screen at the treatment facilities, which cleans sewage from large household waste. Every day, Rivnans dispose of about one hundred kilograms of waste into the sewage network.

This is reported by Rivne24

Employees of the sewage service respond to calls on average 10 times a day, totaling about 70 calls a week for clearing household sewage.

Last week, 85 requests were received and fulfilled. Among the hazardous waste that Rivnans flush down their toilets, one can find personal hygiene products, dishwashing sponges, children’s toys, plastic bags, food scraps, hair, and even glass.

A significant portion of household waste that reaches the treatment facilities in Rivne through the sewage network complicates their operation. Company employees are forced to clean the screens of solid household waste every three hours, collecting between 80 to 120 kg of waste per day.
