Rivne to Bid Farewell to Defender Vitaliy Danchuk

Vitaliy Danchuk was born on March 23, 1966, in the village of Antonivka in the Khmelnytskyi region. He graduated from the local school and later entered the Moscow Higher Military Command School.

Vitaliy dedicated his entire adult life to serving in the armed forces as a career military officer. He participated in combat operations in Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, proving himself to be a devoted defender.

In 2003, Vitaliy’s family moved to Rivne, where he continued to protect Ukraine, including service during the anti-terrorist operation. In 2020, he retired, but with the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia, he returned to service.

According to his wife, Vitaliy was devoted to his duty and his comrades, whom he considered a large military family. During weekends and vacations, he enjoyed fishing with them.

Unfortunately, on October 17, 2025, Colonel Vitaliy Danchuk passed away in the Chernihiv region due to ischemic heart disease.

Vitaliy is survived by his mother, brother, wife, and son. The farewell will take place on Sunday, October 19, at 10:00 AM in Independence Square in Rivne. A memorial service will be held at the Holy Protection Cathedral, and the serviceman will be buried at the Alley of Heroes in the regional center.
