Rivne to Bid Farewell to Heroes Vitaliy Balyuk and Valeriy Kravchuk

The farewell for Vitaliy Balyuk and Valeriy Kravchuk will take place on Thursday, November 6, at 10:00 AM at Independence Square in Rivne. The servicemen will be buried at the Heroes’ Alley of the “Nove” cemetery in the regional center.

Vitaliy Balyuk, born on November 2, 1972, in Rivne, studied at the local 8th school and later at the National University of Water Management and Nature Management. He worked in various positions, including as a loader and a courier, and also had experience serving in the army. In 2023, Vitaliy decided to defend his country by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took pride in his ability to serve his homeland.

Even in the most challenging times, Vitaliy radiated optimism, remaining cheerful and kind-hearted. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, particularly enjoying fishing.

Unfortunately, 52-year-old Senior Sergeant Vitaliy Balyuk was killed on October 23, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He is survived by his granddaughter, aunt, daughter-in-law, as well as cousins.

Valeriy Kravchuk, born on August 9, 1976, in Rivne, initially studied at the 8th school and later at the 14th school. After completing his general secondary education, he obtained a profession as an electrician at a local vocational school. He also served in the army and later worked at a private enterprise called “Keramika.” Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Valeriy was actively involved in volunteering, helping to weave camouflage nets, and in January 2025, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sadly, 49-year-old soldier Valeriy Kravchuk was killed on October 27, 2025, in a battle with the occupiers in Sumy region. He is survived by his wife, son, parents, and sister.
