Rivne Cardinal Avant-garde Lost the Ukrainian Cup Final to the HIT Team

The head coach of “Cardinal Avant-garde” Pavlo Darmovis summarized the final match of the Ukrainian Cup, in which the Rivne team lost to the “HIT” team.

This is reported by Rivne24

Pavlo Darmovis noted: “We wanted to win just as much as our opponent did. They say that fortune favors the stronger. What was lacking to come back for the second time? There were moments. But we were on five fouls and had to play cautiously. That’s why we decided to switch to playing with the fifth player in extra time. That’s what let us down – we made a mistake and conceded.”

The coach also emphasized that the team did not lose heart: “On the contrary – we kept pushing our line because we saw that it was physically hard for ‘HIT’. They played with two quartets, and then switched to just six players. But they managed to endure. That’s all.”

“I told my players before the game that I was proud of them. I saw that the whole team was trying. They have grown into good futsal players,” he added.

Match result: “Cardinal Avant-garde” – “HIT” – 1:2 (0:1, 1:1) ET

Team composition of “Cardinal Avant-garde”: Dyachenko – Skibchik, Kozlyuk, Kravchuk, Parfenyuk – Volianyuk, A. Malynovskyi, Martynenko, Horbulko – Lanko, Semeniuk, Artyshievskyi, Basych. Substitute: Levchenko. Head coach: Pavlo Darmovis.

The first goal conceded by Rivne came from a set piece. Nazar Artyshievskyi did not play tightly enough against Ihor Chernyavskyi, and he finished off Yevhen Zhuk’s throw-in.

“Cardinal Avant-garde” equalized in the second half, also after a throw-in. Artem Martynenko found Mykhailo Volianyuk with a pass from the left flank at the far post, who assisted Artem Malynovskyi – 1:1.

Playing defensively, the Rivne team had the chance to snatch victory. Yevhen Lanko’s shot hit the crossbar just thirty-two seconds before the final whistle.

In extra time, Pavlo Darmovis’s players entered with five fouls and decided to play with five. However, this tactic did not pay off. The very first mistake resulted in a conceded goal. Oleksandr Pedyash scored into the empty net from his half of the court.

The best chance to save the final fell to Artem Malynovskyi, but in the second extra time, he hit the post.
