The accident occurred on November 19 of last year around 6 PM on Dubenska Street in Rivne.

The investigation revealed that a 73-year-old driver of a “Fiat Doblo” from the village of Barmaky exceeded the speed limit and failed to take measures to reduce it, which led to the collision with a 41-year-old woman crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The driver had the technical ability to avoid the collision.

As a result of the accident, the woman sustained severe injuries, including a closed traumatic brain injury, rib fractures, pneumothorax, and multiple contusions. She was hospitalized, but despite resuscitation efforts, she died less than a day later.

The investigator informed the driver of the suspicion. The court imposed a preventive measure of nighttime house arrest. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the case materials have already been sent to court.
