In 2025, over 168.7 thousand children were born in Ukraine, according to the data from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. At the same time, 485.2 thousand deaths were recorded. This means that for every newborn in the country, there were three deaths. Compared to the previous year, the mortality rate decreased by 2%, while the birth rate fell by 4.5%.

Specifically, in the Rivne region, 9,078 newborns were registered. However, across Ukraine, there were 485,296 recorded deaths last year. Although the mortality rate in the country decreased by 2%, there are still three deaths for every newborn.
In the Rivne region, the number of deaths in 2025 reached 13,975 citizens.
