Serhii Viktorovych Patselko was born on December 16, 1994, in the city of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region. From a young age, he aspired to acquire a practical profession and consciously chose a path related to mining. After completing his basic education, he continued his studies at a vocational institution, where he received a full general secondary education and mastered the specialties of underground electrician and underground installation operator. In his professional activities, Serhii proved to be a responsible and diligent worker.
The full-scale war brought significant changes to his family’s life: his parents were forced to leave their native Donetsk region and found shelter in the village of Orlivka in the Bereznivka community, while Serhii settled in Kyiv, had a beloved girlfriend, and planned for life after the war.
As a junior sergeant, he served as a squad commander and crew commander of unmanned aerial vehicle systems in the reconnaissance platoon and correction unit of the assault battalion, defending Ukraine since June 2025. His comrades knew him by the call sign “Sens.” During his service, Serhii was awarded several honors for exemplary military service and conscientious performance of combat tasks. He bravely fulfilled his military duty and was killed on February 2, 2026, in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Today, Serhii returned to his family “on a shield.” His relatives, friends, comrades, community residents, and local authorities came to say goodbye to the fallen Defender.
The funeral procession began at Serhii’s family home. The mournful march proceeded through the village streets to the Holy Resurrection Church in Orlivka, where a memorial service was held. The fallen soldier was buried at the local village cemetery.
Serhii is survived by his mother, father, and grandmother.
