In the Rivne Region, a former manager of a branch of a state enterprise has been charged with land pollution and abuse of office.
This is reported by Rivne24
According to the investigation materials, this enterprise is engaged in the disposal of animal waste. Under current legislation, such waste must be stored on solid surfaces.
However, the suspect instructed that this waste be stored on the factory premises as well as on neighboring plots of land, which violates established norms.
The illegal activities of the official led to land pollution, created a danger to the environment, and caused damages amounting to nearly 1.5 million hryvnias.
Additionally, in 2024–2025, the suspect entered into contracts with private enterprises for the processing of bio-waste at artificially lowered rates, resulting in the factory budget losing another 1.2 million hryvnias.
Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being considered. The penalties for the committed crimes include up to six years of imprisonment, as well as the possibility of being banned from holding certain positions for three years and imposing a fine.
