Employees of the Rivne Department of the National Police’s Internal Security Department, together with investigators from the Rivne police and officers from the Internal Security of the State Border Guard Service, uncovered a network for the illegal transportation of men abroad. The organizers turned out to be two residents of the Transcarpathian region.

The criminals chose one of the key cities in the Rivne region to make it convenient for “clients” from various regions of the country to reach the gathering point.

According to the criminals’ plan, the men were to reach the designated location on their own and wait for further instructions. At one point, one of the criminals picked up a group of escapees and took them to the city of Uzhhorod, providing them with instructions on further actions and payment conditions during the trip. To facilitate quick passage through checkpoints, they used identification as members of a volunteer organization.

Another accomplice monitored the trip online and awaited the arrival of the “clients” in Transcarpathia for further transportation across the border. They demanded payment for their services to be sent to a cryptocurrency wallet. The cost of such a journey from the city of Sarny to Europe was $12,000.

Law enforcement documented the criminal activities of the individuals involved. The perpetrators were detained while attempting to carry out another operation.

Investigators have already notified them of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine, they face up to nine years in prison, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, along with the confiscation of property.
