Forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predict a sharp drop in temperature across Ukraine from February 1 to 3. At night, except for Transcarpathia and southern regions, the air temperature will fall to minus 20-27º. It will be particularly cold in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Sumy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions, where daytime temperatures are expected to range from minus 15 to 22º. In some areas, temperatures may reach minus 30º, which corresponds to the III level of danger (red).

It is expected that from February 4 to 5, the frosts will gradually ease; however, Ukrainians are currently advised to be cautious and adhere to safety measures under such severe weather conditions.
