In Rivne Region, the Memory of Six Fallen Soldiers is Honored

A farewell ceremony was held in the Rivne region for six fallen defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine. Among them are Mykhailo Marynych from the Bereziv community, Vitaliy Dranovskyi from Rivne, Olena Rusanova from the Zdovytsia community, Oleksandr Shkarupa from the Dyadkovychi community, Ivan Sochka from the Tarakaniv community, and the soldier of the International Legion, Hakuru Baddalage Gedara Lahiru Kavinda Hathurusinghe from Sri Lanka.

Fallen Defenders

Mykhailo Marynych, born on September 17, 1986, in the village of Berezove, lived in the village of Zabolottia. He served as a scout and went missing on March 15, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the area of Krasna Hora in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region. After a DNA examination, his death was confirmed.

Vitaliy Dranovskyi, a 50-year-old junior sergeant, was born on October 29, 1975, in Rivne. He took up arms to defend his homeland at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and died on April 3, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in Sumy region.

Olena Rusanova, born in 1990 in Kurakhove, moved with her family to the Rivne region in 2022. She served in the 14th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and died on April 2, 2026, from injuries sustained in Donetsk region. She is survived by her parents and three children.

Oleksandr Shkarupa, born on May 23, 1973, lived in the village of Dyadkovychi. He was killed on April 4, 2026, while performing a combat mission in the area of Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region.

Ivan Sochka, born on December 20, 1987, lived in Mala Zahirka in the Tarakaniv community. His life was tragically cut short on April 6, 2026, due to a traffic accident in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Hakuru Baddalage Gedara Lahiru Kavinda Hathurusinghe, who joined the International Legion in October 2023, was killed on April 3, 2026, in Sumy region while defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. He was buried in the cemetery in Mlyniv next to the grave of his military commander.
