In Rivne Region, the memory of six fallen defenders was honored

In the Rivne region, six defenders were laid to rest: Vasyl Kyseliov from Dubno, Mykola Baitsym from Rafalivka community, Dmytro Metelytskyi from Rivne, Petro Fedchuk from Hoshcha, Volodymyr Zakharchuk from Kostopil, and Anton Kalabskyi from Ostroh.

Vasyl Kyseliov, born on October 6, 1970, served his conscription in Germany, where he worked as a signalman. In 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, initially serving in the 47th Separate Engineer Brigade (OMOSTB “Combat Beavers”), and later in the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. Vasyl bravely defended Ukraine as a squad commander and received numerous military awards. Since January 2025, he was considered missing in action, and on January 22, 2025, information about his death in the Kharkiv region was confirmed.

Mykola Baitsym, born on January 12, 1976, lived in the village of Rafalivka. He was drafted into the military during mobilization and served as a mechanic-driver in a mechanized battalion. Since June 2025, he was considered missing in action in the Sumy region, and DNA testing confirmed his death.

Dmytro Metelytskyi, born on September 20, 1987, in Rivne, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in December 2024. He died on May 9, 2026, in the Kharkiv region due to heart disease.

Petro Fedchuk, born on October 6, 1967, in the village of Bochanitsia in Hoshcha, completed his conscription and took up arms to defend Ukraine at the onset of the full-scale invasion on March 3, 2022. He served as a chief sergeant and a member of the crew of the 1st anti-aircraft artillery section. Unfortunately, on May 11, 2026, during treatment, his heart stopped.

Volodymyr Zakharchuk was born on October 18, 1971, in Kostopil. From 2016 to 2021, he participated in combat operations in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. At the beginning of the full-scale war, he again took up arms to defend Ukraine. In 2018, Volodymyr received the President of Ukraine’s award for participation in the anti-terrorist operation, and in 2023, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the “Golden Cross.” On August 12, 2025, his family was informed of his disappearance, and in May 2026, the identification of his body was confirmed.

Anton Kalabskyi, born on December 21, 1991, lived in the village of Moshchanytsia. He died on May 9, 2026, while performing a combat mission.
