On September 4, a 47-year-old resident of Rivne reported a theft from her apartment to the police. An unknown person stole 85 thousand hryvnias, 2 thousand euros, 100 dollars, and 11 gold ornaments.
Criminal investigation officers established that the crime was committed by a relative of the victim, a 38-year-old resident of Rivne.
The police learned that financial difficulties prompted the perpetrator to commit the theft. Knowing that the homeowner would not be at home, the woman used a spare key to gain entry to the apartment.
The gold ornaments were pawned by the perpetrator. The money obtained was transferred to her bank card to pay off her debts.
The woman has been notified of her suspicion, and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of nighttime house arrest. The investigator has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the case materials have been sent to court.
