A criminal proceeding has been initiated in Rivne due to the neglect of a newborn child.

The Rivne Regional Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation into the case concerning a 27-year-old mother who, according to law enforcement, willfully neglected her responsibilities for caring for her child (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The child, born on December 13, was taken from the mother by representatives of social services. The father of the infant remains unknown. It is reported that the mother leads an antisocial lifestyle and lives in unsanitary conditions. She not only failed to feed her son but also refused medical assistance and social support.
Additionally, the woman has a 3-year-old daughter, whom she also neglects, and who is currently staying with relatives.
This woman has previously come to the attention of law enforcement for crimes related to the illegal drug trade and has also been held administratively responsible for domestic violence.
The newborn boy is currently under medical supervision.
