SBU and National Police have detained an arsonist recruited by the FSB.
This is reported by Rivne24
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, carried out an operation that resulted in the detention of a young man who fell victim to recruitment by Russian special services. According to the investigation, a 20-year-old student from the Rivne region was recruited via the Telegram messenger.
It is noted that the recruiters acted “under a false flag,” posing as SBU employees. They instructed the detainee to supposedly “check the security system” of the Economic Court of Volyn Oblast.
During the night, the young man committed arson by throwing a bag with a flammable mixture onto the court’s stairs. Operatives detained him less than a day after the crime.
Based on the collected evidence, the detainee has been notified of suspicion under part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to intentional destruction or damage to property. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
