Smuggler from Rivne Region Attempted to Export 230 Packs of Cigarettes of Various Brands Abroad

The man was detained at the “Shehyni” border crossing in Lviv region. During the inspection of his vehicle, customs officers discovered the smuggling attempt.

Some of the packs of cigarettes were hidden under the passenger seat, while others were concealed in a specially equipped cavity in the ceiling of the car, known as the “roof.” The 48-year-old resident of Rivne region attempted to explain the presence of the goods as personal needs, stating that he was transporting the cigarettes “for acquaintances” in Germany.

The entire batch of tobacco products was seized. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver for violating customs regulations.
