A soldier, Oleksandr Hermanuk, died during a combat mission in Kharkiv region

The Radivliv community received the sad news of the death of their fellow countryman, serviceman Oleksandr Mykhailovych Hermanuk, who served as a driver in the anti-tank missile systems unit of the motorized infantry battalion.

Oleksandr, born on June 23, 1984, died on October 10, 2025, while performing a combat mission near Lyman in the Chuhuiv district of Kharkiv region.

He grew up and received his education in the city of Radivliv, where he graduated from Radivliv Lyceum No. 2. After that, he moved to Lviv, where he lived with his family.

Oleksandr is survived by relatives and close ones; the farewell to the Hero and the funeral service will take place in Radivliv region.

On May 1, Radivliv region will welcome the mourning cortege with the body of the fallen Defender, who will be buried in his hometown.

The route of the cortege on May 1:

  • approximately at 14:00 — arrival at the police post in the village of Oparypsi;
  • then proceeding through the villages of Oparypsi, Buhayivka, Sestriatyn to the village of Polunychne in the Krupech community (34 Pryberezhna St.), where the family of the deceased resides.

On May 1 at 19:00, a memorial service will be held in the village of Polunychne.

On May 2 (Saturday):

  • 11:00 — a liturgy for the repose of the fallen’s soul;
  • 11:30 — departure of the mourning cortege to the city of Radivliv.

Route: Polunychne – Sestriatyn – Buhayivka – Radivliv (Parkova St.).

Approximately at 12:10–12:20, there will be a stop at the Memorial Stele for the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine on Kremenetska St. From there, the mourning procession will proceed on foot to the Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky, where a requiem prayer will be held.

The burial of the serviceman will take place at the cemetery in Radivliv with full military honors.
