Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations, with the support of the National Police, have announced suspicions against the acting head of the Klevan Forestry of the Kostopil Forestry District, a branch of the “Polissya Forestry Office” of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.”

According to the investigation, in the autumn of 2025, under her direction, 140 trees of various species were illegally cut down in the Rivne district. The fact of illegal logging was recorded by forestry employees, who reported it to law enforcement authorities.
According to the expert assessment, the state suffered damages amounting to over 4 million 800 thousand UAH.
Part of the illegally cut timber was found on the territory of the Biliv Women’s Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Rivne Diocese. Representatives of the monastery stated that the timber was given to them free of charge. Another part of the timber was handed over to unidentified individuals.
Currently, the employees of the State Bureau of Investigations are identifying all those involved in the illegal logging and transportation of timber, as well as checking the possible involvement of the official in other crimes in the forestry sector.
She has been informed of the suspicion for:
- Part 3 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — abuse of office causing severe consequences;
- Part 3 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — organizing illegal logging, transportation, storage, and sale of illegally cut trees, causing severe consequences.
The penalties for these articles provide for up to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
