Late at night, a report was received on line 102 from a witness who observed a traffic accident on the M-06 Kyiv — Chop highway. A DAF truck with a SCHMITZ trailer collided with a stand of temporary road signs, after which the driver left the scene and headed towards the city of Rivne.

Patrol officers soon discovered the damaged truck mentioned by the caller. During their conversation with the driver, the police determined that he had not maintained a safe speed and distance, which led to the collision with the road sign.
Administrative materials were compiled against the driver for:
- Article 122 – 4 (Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Accident) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
- Article 124 (Traffic Violation Causing a Traffic Accident) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
