These works became necessary due to the lowering of sidewalks and the establishment of barrier-free pedestrian crossings. To enhance road safety, the traffic lights were installed directly on the line of crossings, as stipulated by the state standard.
This updated placement of traffic lights improves the visibility of signals for drivers and pedestrians, as well as ensures comfortable and safe movement, especially for patients and visitors of the city hospital.
Additionally, the city is conducting a phased replacement of outdated traffic lights in various areas according to the new state standards. For example, work has already been completed at the intersection of 24 Serpnia and Drahomanova streets.
