After completing his studies, Dmytro went to Poland for work, worked as a plasterer on construction sites in Rivne and other cities in Ukraine, and also worked for a time as a baker at the “Rumyanyts” bakery. In November 2024, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“All of Dima’s friends were fighting, so he was prepared that he would also have to defend his homeland. He initially underwent training at the training ground and later joined the special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate, “Artan.” He had excellent physical training, previously practiced boxing, won prizes at championships, so he quickly adapted to the loads. Dmytro always helped everyone, he was a very kind and humane guy,” shared the memories of the Defender’s mother.

Unfortunately, 30-year-old serviceman Dmytro Nesterovych was killed on February 26, 2026, while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Just recently, it was possible to return the body of the warrior to his family for a dignified burial.

The Defender is survived by his parents and a girlfriend with whom he planned to marry.

Farewell to Dmytro Nesterovych will take place on Thursday, May 21, at 11:30 AM at Independence Square in Rivne. The serviceman will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Obaryv.
