A train in the Rivne district struck a man, resulting in his death.

Today, December 23, at 02:40, the police received a report from the driver of a backup locomotive about the discovery of an unidentified body on the railway tracks in the village of Velykyi Oleksyn, between the stations “Rivne” and “Obariv”.
Investigators from the VП No. 1 (Rivne city) promptly arrived at the scene. The police established that the deceased was a 61-year-old local resident. He had injuries consistent with being struck by a train, including the amputation of a lower limb.
The investigator has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of safety regulations on railway transport in accordance with part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The circumstances of the incident are being established.
