Investigators from the investigative department, in collaboration with border guards and under the procedural guidance of the Rivne Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region, documented the criminal activities of a 32-year-old resident of Varash District and a 29-year-old man from Kyiv.
It was established that the 32-year-old man devised a plan to offer a border guard acquaintance 8000 dollars to assist in the smooth crossing of the state border by the 29-year-old resident of Kyiv.
The criminals transported the conscript to the agreed location, where they provided the official with part of the bribe amounting to 4000 dollars, after which they were detained by law enforcement officers.
The investigators informed the two suspects of their charges for committing a crime under part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the 32-year-old resident of Varash District was also charged under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for organizing the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine for selfish motives.
The court granted the investigator’s request and imposed preventive measures on the suspects in the form of detention for a period of 60 days, with the possibility of posting bail of 121,120 hryvnias each, which they did not pay.
