Over the past day, from January 18 to 19, six individuals were hospitalized in medical facilities in the region with diagnoses of “general hypothermia” and “frostbite.”
The situation regarding injuries caused by low temperatures remains tense. Cases have been recorded in the Rivne and Sarny districts, with the highest number of victims reported in the Rivne district.
In the Korets territorial community, a woman born in 1997 and a man born in 2000 died from general hypothermia in the intensive care unit.
In the Berezne territorial community, two individuals were admitted to the hospital: a man with II–III degree frostbite on his feet and a woman with hypothermia complicated by pneumonia.
In the Ostroh territorial community, a man born in 1945 was brought to the intensive care unit with frostbite on his limbs.
In the Sarny district, in the village of Lyubikovychi, a man in serious condition was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Dubrovytsia Hospital.
The main causes of injuries are prolonged exposure to cold without appropriate warm clothing and ignoring the early signs of hypothermia and frostbite.
