On February 5 at 10:49, the Rivne Emergency Service received a report of a fire in a residential building in the city of Rivne on Oleksandr Vasyliev Street.

Two fire crews from the 2nd State Fire and Rescue Unit were urgently dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescuers found that the fire had broken out in one of the rooms of the house. They immediately began extinguishing it using firefighting substances.
It was reported that even before the arrival of the State Emergency Service units, local residents managed to carry a man born in 1954 out of the building. Unfortunately, rescuers discovered the body of a woman born in 1960 in one of the rooms, on the bed.
To extinguish the fire, 2 units of special equipment from the State Emergency Service and 8 rescuers were involved.
Currently, specialists are investigating the causes of the fire and assessing the damage caused. It is preliminarily believed that the fire may have occurred due to a short circuit in an extension cord.
