On May 12, in the village of Karpylivka, Rivne district, two people sustained serious thermal burns due to careless handling of fire while refueling a gasoline trimmer with gasoline. The victims were a woman born in 1990 and a man born in 1989.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the incident was smoking while refueling the gasoline trimmer. This led to a fire, as a result of which the victims sustained burns to 80% and 25% of their body surface, respectively.
Both victims were urgently hospitalized to the burn center of the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital for necessary medical assistance.
