Sergiy Popyk, a native of the Velykoomelyanska community, was born on August 12, 1992. He served as a maintenance master for the mortar crew in the infantry battalion. Unfortunately, on October 20, 2025, Sergiy was killed due to a life-threatening mine explosion injury while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. The defender’s final journey took place at the local cemetery in the village of Velyka Omelyana.
Stepan Kovalchuk, born in 1991, lived in the village of Tarakaniv. He was a sergeant. Tragically, his life was cut short due to a traffic accident. The funeral service was held at the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Tarakaniv.
