Military Exercises in Belarus Create an Informational Threat to the Baltics
Political scientist Ihor Chalenko emphasized during a broadcast on Suspilne that officially, there are not enough troops involved in the exercises in Belarus to launch attacks on Kyiv or the Rivne region.

“The Belarusians themselves are trying to lower the tension during their exercises at any cost. However, the situation is being escalated by Russia, spreading various threats to the Baltic countries,” the political scientist noted.
He also added that there are certain concerns. The exercises in Belarus could pose a potential threat to Kyiv or the Rivne region, as the full-scale invasion in 2022 began with similar maneuvers called “West-2021.” However, the number of troops involved is significantly lower now. In 2021, there were 200,000 military personnel, whereas currently only about 30,000 are declared.
The Ukrainian military command has also taken all security measures into account: significant areas are mined, and defensive lines have been constructed. It is also worth remembering the specifics of the terrain along the border with Belarus, where there are many swamps, complicating the movement of equipment.
