UPL and PFL Clubs Deprived of the Right to Register New Players

The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) has announced that currently 21 clubs from the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) and the First Football League (PFL) are unable to register new players.

The reasons for this punishment are mainly related to debts for arbitration costs or failure to comply with the decisions of the dispute resolution chamber and the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC).

Among the Premier League clubs affected by the sanctions are “Veres”, “Kryvbas”, LNZ, “Poltava”, “Rukh”, “Zorya”, and “Kudrivka”. In the First League, the ban has impacted “Vorskla”, “Agrobusiness”, “Niva” from Ternopil, “Chornomorets”, “Phoenix-Mariupol”, YUKSA, and “Metalist”. In the Second League, the sanctioned clubs include “Vylkhivtsi”, “Hirnyk-Sport”, “Dianaz”, “Skala 1911”, “Rebel”, “Lokomotiv”, and “Niva” from Vinnytsia.

The UAF notes that such a situation is common in Ukrainian football, and clubs usually resolve all their financial obligations before registering new players during the transfer window.
