The emotions from the game were very intense. Matches against Rukh always take place in such an atmosphere; it’s a kind of derby. Our team has several graduates from the Karpaty academy, and they had extra motivation to win. They didn’t even need additional encouragement. Therefore, it was important for the guys not to burn out. I believe we managed that.

As for the game itself, Rukh is one of the highest-scoring teams in the league, expertly utilizing pressing. So I am even prouder of my boys for how they played defensively. We haven’t conceded a goal for four consecutive games, and that is encouraging. It indicates that we are on the right track.

Today we withstood the opponent’s initial onslaught, and the game unfolded according to our plan. We consciously fell back and waited for chances in counterattacks, having fast players up front. We succeeded in that. So we can count this game as a success. The whole team deserves praise. Now we will have three days off, and then we will return to work.
