Volyn Law Enforcement Uncovers Drug Business on Cannabis Plantations

Law enforcement seized goods and equipment worth 10 million UAH

In the Volyn region, law enforcement dismantled a large drug trafficking channel linked to cannabis cultivation. The organizer of this illegal business was a 39-year-old resident of Rivne region, who involved four accomplices in the operation. This was reported by the press service of the Volyn police.

The investigation revealed that the suspects were engaged in the cultivation, packaging, and sale of cannabis. The entire operation was managed by the 39-year-old organizer, with a 37-year-old resident of Lutsk responsible for cultivation and a 43-year-old Volyn resident handling the distribution of drugs. In total, five individuals were involved in the scheme.

– The operation took place at several locations. Law enforcement conducted 17 simultaneous searches at the homes of the suspects and their vehicles, dismantling five specially equipped sites for cannabis cultivation, – the police reported.

As a result of the searches, over 15 kg of cannabis, hundreds of cannabis plants, specialized equipment for producing and packaging drugs, consumption devices, handwritten notes with care schedules and drug distribution plans, as well as a significant amount of cash were seized from the offenders. The total value of the confiscated items is estimated at around 10 million UAH.

All five drug dealers were detained, and the court chose a preventive measure of detention for them. They were charged under part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal sale of narcotic substances in especially large quantities). They face a penalty of six to ten years in prison with property confiscation.
