The “InventorUA” competition brings together young inventors who seek solutions to safety issues, improve ecology, and develop new technologies. The event is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in collaboration with the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Andrian Hordiichuk took second place in the category of “Health Preservation and Disease Treatment.” He created a prototype of a trainer (orthosis) that helps restore muscle strength in the legs and improve the mobility of the knee joint and foot. The young man was inspired by watching soldiers undergoing rehabilitation at a local hospital and decided to contribute to their recovery.
The competition judges noted the innovation and relevance of the invention. Although there are already assistive trainers for rehabilitation made in the USA, Israel, and Japan, Andrian emphasizes the advantages of his device. Among them are the simplicity of the design, the possibility of modification, low production costs, and versatility of application, as it does not require specialized personnel to operate. Recently, the young inventor was listed among the best innovators in Ukraine, winning a silver medal in the Material Tech Startup finals.
