Virt noted that “Veres could have claimed points in this game.” He emphasized the good performance of the Rivne team, especially in the first half, when the team demonstrated quality counterplay both in defense and attack. An important moment was when Veres hit the crossbar, which could have changed the course of the match.
However, in the second half of the match, Shandruk’s team, unfortunately, could not show activity in attack. “Their counterattacks did not work, they hardly moved forward and were only thinking about defense,” the coach added.
Virt believes that “it should be acknowledged that Shakhtar scored the winning goal, as the ‘miners’ applied great pressure,” and it was only a matter of time. The flurry of substitutions made by Shakhtar strengthened the team’s performance, which could not be said for the Veres players, ultimately leading to the deserved victory for the ‘miners’.
